Hi my name is Bethany J. Kraus LMT, CLT (state licensed massage therapist, certified lymphedema therapist) I received my massage therapy education from 2002-2004 at The North Eastern Institute of Whole Health in Manchester, NH. Before I decided to become a massage therapist I received my Bachelor of Science (equine science) degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2002. My original intention was to work mainly doing equine massage but as my schooling progressed I saw the great opportunity to help people. I love having a career where people are happy to see me and feel better after I work with them. My main focus during the past 5 years has been deep tissue, relaxation, and hot stone therapies. I have recently branched out and obtained my certification in lymphatic drainage and complete decongestive therapy. I completed this 135 hour training program through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in order to focus some of my work to aid in the management of lymph edema. Breast cancer survivors often have lymph edema after lymph node removal, radiation, or mastectomy operations. I feel privileged to help this group of individuals lead full happy lives.
I lead a very active lifestyle and therefore must receive therapeutic massage on a regular basis if I want to keep myself free from injury, sore muscles, and limited flexibility. I horseback ride often and hope to participate in eventing, dressage, ride and tie events, and endurance races as soon as I have my own horses. I also enjoy walking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, yoga, Pilates, belly dance, tap, ballet, and playing with my dog.
